The league

A season, competed from your own mat.

NMAO is a national tournament league where you compete once a month by video, filmed right in your own dojo and judged by experienced martial artists. Every round, you're ranked and rated against competitors your age and level across the country — building a season-long record of how far you've come.

In between monthly tournaments, sharpen your skills by dueling other martial artists of similar age, rank, and rating from across the country — and let the martial arts community vote to decide who prevails.

Nothing like it has existed. And Season I begins January 15, 2027 — you can be part of the very first one.

How it works

The Flow.

01Film and submit your video

One form or weapons video on a phone, up to two angles for a clear view. That's your entry.

02Fair division sorting

You're placed in a division pod of no more than 15, sorted by age, rank, and rating — reshuffled each round for a fair shot every time.

03Judged fairly

Beginner and intermediate divisions are scored by one judge; advanced divisions by a panel of three.

04Duel between rounds

Duel competitors from around the country in between rounds, and let the community vote on who prevails.

05Your monthly reveal

An animated reveal unveils your stats, medals, and accolades earned throughout the month.

06Medals at your school

Your physical medals ship to your school, to be presented where you train.

07Back to the mat

Start training for the next round.

Between rounds

Step into the arena.

Dueling is head-to-head competition between tournament rounds.

You're matched against another competitor — your video against theirs — and the whole community votes on who takes the duel. It's fast, it's fun, and it keeps you sharp and competing even between rounds. Win streaks, badges, and leaderboards all season.

Every step counts

Progress, rewarded.

Placing earns medals — but progress earns badges.

Competitors earn them through dueling and competing. A first duel won, a personal best, a milestone reached, showing up round after round: each achievement is recognized and displayed. So however a season goes, you always walk away with proof of how far you've come, and every reason to come back stronger.

The keepsake

Earned one piece at a time.

Every round — win or lose — is one to remember and learn from, and each segment marks a step along your path. Together, the pieces form a patchwork yin-yang: the tale of your adventures in the arena. Will you be the first to earn a full gold yin-yang?

The Grand Finale

Nine rounds lead here.

The season builds to a Grand Finale, where the top competitors compete for it all.

Bigger than a tournament

A community, rising together.

You and competitors across the country are building something that's never existed. Dojos that once stood alone become one national community. Students who'd never have crossed paths now compete and duel and rise together, season after season.

It starts with the very first season — and you can be part of it.

Our promise

Fair every round. Honored every time.

Fair divisions by age, rank, and rating. Experienced martial artists score with a rubric promoting technique, power, stability, balance, timing, and difficulty. And every competitor is recognized — because in the martial arts, effort and growth are honored as loudly as any medal.
